PERFORMANCE

2.0-LITER GTDI I-4 SETS THE STANDARD
Get the kind of performance you might expect from a V6 in a 4-cylinder engine. With 240 horsepower1 and 270 lb.-ft. of torque,1 MKC delivers on command thanks to the boost of turbocharging, the precision of direct fuel injection, and the sophistication of twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT). During stop-and-go city driving, Auto Start-Stop Technology2 can help reduce fuel consumption and vehicle emissions. The system will shut off the engine when you come to a complete stop, and seamlessly restart it when you release the brake pedal or press the accelerator pedal. The result is a strong performer with an EPA-estimated rating of 28 hwy mpg.3 The standard 6-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission puts the control of a manual shift at your fingertips. Just tap the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, and you can change gears if you choose.

2.3-LITER GTDI I-4 INCREASES POWER
Offering 285 horsepower1 and 305 lb.-ft. of torque,1 the 2.3-liter GTDI I-4 engine2 uses the turbocharging, direct fuel injection, and Ti-VCT technologies featured in the 2.0-liter engine to take performance to the next level. As Motor Trend said, "The power is quickly accessible and the MKC shoots off the line and does just as well passing on the freeway."4 The 2.3-liter is paired with Intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD)2 and Lincoln Drive Control2 featuring Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) for inspiring performance all around. Use the Sport setting to tighten suspension tuning, firm up steering calibration, and enjoy a more powerful engine sound inside the cabin - all while feeling connected to the road.

STRESS LESS IN STOP-AND-GO
Now there's no need to hold down the brake pedal for a long stoplight or extended wait. Just activate the new Auto Hold feature,5 then come to a complete stop. Even on a hill, the system will hold your MKC in place until you press the accelerator.

    - 270 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 2.3L GTDI I-4:(2)

    - 305 lb.-ft. of torque

"The Lincoln MKC GTDI engines outperform Q5's2.0L and 3.0L TFSI engines and do so using regularunleaded gasoline. Q5's engines require the moreexpensive premium fuel, making the Lincoln MKCengines powerful, effi cient and economical.

"Further, Lincoln MKC owners can benefi t from evengreater engine power (245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft.of torque(2)) when they use premium fuel."

All Audi models, including Q5, are known for their expertly crafted interiors and upscale materials.

Craftsmanship and upscale materials are the price of entryin the luxury SUV segment. Lincoln MKC goes beyond byalso delivering exceptional value. BMW X3 emphasizes the "sport" aspect of the SportUtility segment, thanks to two turbocharged engines:

  • 2.0L turbo I-4:
    - 240 horsepower
    - 260 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 3.0L turbo V6:
    - 300 horsepower
    - 300 lb.-ft. of torque

Lincoln MKC also delivers exceptional performance fromits two turbocharged engines:

  • 2.0L GTDI I-4:
    - 240 horsepower
    - 270 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 2.3L GTDI I-4:(1)
    - 285 horsepower
    - 305 lb.-ft. of torque
Fuel economy for the X3 and MKC are similar. However, since the 2.0L GTDI engine off ered for Lincoln MKC canoperate on 87-octane gasoline, it delivers signifi cantlybetter value than the X3's 2.0L turbo engine, whichrequires higher priced premium fuel.

"The technological innovation of the Lincoln 2.3L turboengine is evidenced by the fact that it delivers nearlythe same horsepower and slightly more torque thanthe much larger 3.0L turbo in X3. The 2.0L engine inLincoln MKC can operate using regular unleadedgasoline, making it a much better value than theX3 2.0L turbo engine, which requires premium fuel.

"For Lincoln MKC owners who want greater power, the2.0L GTDI I-4 engine achieves 245 horsepower and275 lb.-ft. of torque(1) with premium fuel."

The BMW X3 boasts driving technologies that ensuresafety without sacrifi cing performance. Availablefeatures include Dynamic Damping Control andVariable Sport Steering.

Lincoln is also theonly luxury automotive manufacturer to nationally off erowners a standard vehicle Pickup & Delivery Service.(3)"

The X3, like all BMW models, is targeted to those who want to combine performance with luxury.

BMW has been roundly criticized for its pricing. Vehiclesstart above their competitors and the prices increasewith options. Prices climb by adding heated front andrear seats, a heated steering wheel, front and rear parkcontrol and a rear view camera. A fully equipped xDrive35i tops $60,000.(4)

"Lincoln believes value and luxury can go hand inhand. Heated front seats are standard on Lincoln MKCPremiere, as is a Reverse Sensing System andpush-button start. Comparably equip both vehiclesand you will discover that Lincoln MKC delivers avalue advantage in the thousands of dollars."
